Evicting Cancer Causing Agents- Part 1

Call me over protective. Call me a health nut. Call me plain crazy. I don't care. I am on a mission to cut all of the known cancer causing agents out of my house! As I write this to you my 82 year old grandmother lays in a bed in the hospital with anywhere from days to weeks to live. Why? CANCER! She had melanoma several years ago in a mole and she had it removed. It came back into the lymph nodes in her neck and they removed all of the lymph nodes and muscle in her neck but now its back and it is in her brain. It absolutely is killing me to see her laying there like she is. It is killing me to see my father cry over the thought of what is coming. While I may not be able to prevent environment cancer causing agents from being present, I can prevent from putting them into my body and on my skin. So today, I am kicking deodorant! I'm not going to be stinking because I have made a D.I.Y deodorant for both me and my husband AND IT WORKS!! Plus, it has NO cancer causing agents!

Life Happened!

Yes I know it has been a whole 10 days since I last posted! Life happened! My grandfather fell and broke his hip and had to have surgery. He is going okay now but has been moved to a nursing home. Ian, my middle son, has had fits coughing that just would not quit and would leave him well, to say it nicely, upchucking. We were at the doctor with him and they discovered he has asthma. He is on breathing treatments every four hours for a week and is doing MUCH better! My school semester started this last week so I am trying to get back in the grove there. To sum it up...... LIFE HAPPENED! Still been in the creating mood though so I have some great stuff in store for you! Stay tuned! Can you believe January is almost over???? Me either!

Memorize Scripture with Ease!

Okay I completely think God is sitting in the heavens blessing my goal to Get Serious With Jesus in 2015! First I found the reading plan I wanted to attempt for the next six months. Then I shared with all of you how important family devotions are. The very next day God answered my prayer to help me pray more faithfully for my children when a friend introduced me to Isaiah 55 Pray-er's. Then today, I visited another blog. Diana at Joyful In His Presence has a link on her page to help with Scripture memorization! Today I want to share it with you in homes it can help you too with your scripture memorization!

Friday's Fave Five 01.16.2015

Well I am a day late but better late than never. :) I had a great week as I hope you did as well. My whole week was enjoyable because we spent most of it spending time with family. My favorite part of the week was a trip out of town with my parents. We went to a new business in search of some essential oils we are having trouble finding. All of our local businesses carry the same oils all the time and get aggravated when we request them to order special ones for us. :( Then we had a coffee run because my feet were freezing!

Prayers For Our Children

Do you ever think, I should pray more for my kids or grand kids? Do you feel you repeat the same thing every time you do pray for them? (God keep them safe, healthy and grow up to live for you.) Do you wish you could go to a prayer meeting but do not have time? Have you been to a prayer meeting and it has only been talking and no praying? Well I have got good news for you!!! Keep reading!!

Are Family Devotions Important?

Do you do devotions with your family? Truth be told I did not until several years ago. For me it is important to raise my children in the ways of the Lord. But the busyness of life kept me from taking time daily to talk with my kids much about the Lord. I mean face it. If you are not very intentional, you could go through life without teaching them a lot of things. The point is when you want your kids to learn something new, you are very intentional about making sure they are taught. God is not different. You have to MAKE IT HAPPEN! But are they getting anything out of it? Is it making a difference? Keep reading. You might be surprised at what you learn!

Getting Serious with Jesus

In the past I have done well with my daily Bible reading. But every time I get to going well, something happens that throws my plan for a loop. Does that happen to you too? I can start a study and be taking notes and doing well but then I get off track and start reading random passages. I suppose there is nothing wrong with that method but I want to be more intentional. A lot of people do the reading through the Bible in a year plan but I wanted to be a little more aggressive with my reading. So here is my plan. Would you consider joining in with me?

When You Gonna Get Married?

As a young person wanting to get married some day those words get old. Seriously! But when my 3 year old asked me that several times this last week, well, I wondered why he was asking. Initially I asked him why he wanted to know that. I got the response that he wanted to marry me. But after the first several times I was a little concerned. When I told him that we got married before he was born, well he was stumped. It is as if he did not understand that we were here before he was. But what I did next showed not only him we had gotten married but reminded me why too. What should you do if you are still waiting on that perfect spouse to come along? Keep reading!

One Handed Finance System

In March of last year I wrote a post about how I was organizing my finances- the finance binder. It worked well for a while but I found it was kind of awkward to take with my anywhere. There are some weeks that I just am busier than others so I needed something I could take with me. There is nothing wrong with the finance binder if you leave all of your stuff at home but my new one handed finance system works better for those on the go! Ready to see it? It is so easy, you are gonna love it!

Move Over Pills, Oils Are Here!

Have you ever had a runny nose, headache, toothache, earache, backache, cough, congestion? Well you get the picture. Being human, I'm guessing everyone who reads this will answer yes. But my next question is, what do you do when you have one of these things? For me it was usually drive to the local pharmacy or store and pick up the brand drug of choice, drive home, take it, and then usually need another type of drug to counteract something that the drug I just took did. Did that make sense? Okay it did to me. So what do you do? We live in a world where pharmaceuticals are at an all time high. Don't believe me how bad it is? Look it up! I searched for drug epidemic and I found different numbers but all of them were shocking. So what do we do about it? For me and my family, we are easing up on the pills and we have turned to using essential oils.

I'm Confused! Sunday School Lesson Help (Free Printable)

Am I the only one that gets confused at times studying the Sunday School lesson? I hope not. At my church we are going through the whole Bible in chronological order by using The Story curriculum that was put together by Max Lucado and Randy Frazee. This week we are on chapter 14: A Kingdom Torn in Two. I really love us doing this as a class and we have had such wonderful discussion every week about it. This week however I am teaching the lesson and being the teacher, it is not good that I was confused. Here is how I got "unstuck". I got out a piece of paper and started taking notes, drawing lines and well, it was a mess. This helped me so it had to help my Sunday school class too. But they can't read this mess. So I created a solution!

Fridays Fave Five 01.02.2015

I like the idea of recapping the week to remember what was great about it. Focusing on the positive always helps one to forget about the negative and after all we are blessed in far more ways than we take time to acknowledge. SO, each Friday I want to take time to post my favorite five things about the week. To summarize this week as a teaser here are my five keywords: bottom, book, basement, cat, couch. To get the full story, keep reading! Here goes for this week....

A New Year's Sweeping

I hope you all had a wonderful New Year Day. More importantly I hope you truly do have a good new YEAR. So how did you spend your day? Mine was one of taking down Christmas decorations, blogging and spending time with family. Today I am not going to do another how to post (as much as I love to do those) but I wanted to let you in on a little fun piece of
my world.

Hey There- It's Been A While!

Well hey there dear! How you been? Hasn't our world been just crazy here lately!? So much has happened since I last posted but I have tr...
